Well July went by too quickly

At Bee one of the girls (Tammy) shared a request for a Poppy quilt block that will be made into quilts for the beds once Camp Mystic on the Guadalupe reopens.  She's already made some and so far I have one.  I'll be making some more fefore she mails them in at the end of August. The flowers can be any color and the center I believe should be yellow. Anyone can participate so if you go to a bee and want to collect some blocks and mail them to the address on the Guadalupe River Quilt Drive Picture please do so.

Here's a picture of how they're put together. Several of us had issues by just reading the directions. LOL I'm one of them for sure. I managed to put the white squares on the wrong corners and it didn't look quite right.
The Sassy Stitchers were very creative at bee that day. Here's a few shots I captured of their work.

Thelma is showing off her butterfly quilt. Back and front.  So very pretty.
Shirlynn showed off her colorful quilt. I love it.

Connie made this adorable Log Cabin quilt. She made the comment it was hard. What?! This from the woman who made a bargello quilt top. That to me was hard with all the shifting of fabric. She's done an awesome job on everything she's made.
Sarah was making these adorable blocks. Ba ba Black sheep.
David said he needed to run an errand and he'd take me to lunch at Circleville Store on the outskirts of Taylor. I wasn't going to turn down lunch.
It was so yummy. We had their lunch special which was fried chicken with 2 sides. The served 3 pieces of chicken and I shared mine with David. You won't walk away hungry. You'll have to take my word since I didn't take any pictures. They had burgers and other food but chicken was the only thing fried they were serving that day. No complainants from us.
After this we hit a couple antique stores. I saw these two crockery bowls and I was tempted but I've got several now and I don't know where I'd put anymore. I never had the desire to collect bowls until I got one from my step-mother and dang here I am collecting bowls. But I did leave these at the store. Maybe next trip out.

Then I saw this doll. Nope Nope. I've never really had a fear of clowns but in the last few years they do give me the creeps. It's the eyes and the mouth.

But this sweet cookie jar made me think of my little sister who had told me she loves Noah's ark. I guess I need to ask her if she still likes stuff about Noah's ark. It's not like our tastes don't change and we find something else that draws our attention as the years go by.

Recently I sold some gold to the jewelry store of stuff I'll never wear for various reasons and got a store credit to use. That paid for the downsize of my ring. After losing weight I went from a 7 1/2 to a 5 1/2. David told me I could charge the balance of a ring guard I wanted since it had been a while since he had bought me any jewelry but I had enough  credit to cover the single ring guard of diamonds and aquamarine, Mine and Pamela's birth stone. A week later I went back and got a second one with the some of the credit I had left. I love the sparkles. The white gold ring was my mom's engagement ring from my dad. Perfect timing for a picture since I had just had my nails done.

Well that's it for now. I started this post in July but I ran out of time because I was headed off to retreat..
Until next post...  You know you’ve had too much coffee when you can thread your sewing machine while its quilting
