April is Gone and It's May already!

April sure went by quickly. As usually we packed plenty of activity into the month and May is not going to be any different from looking at our calendar.

David got all the raised beds cleaned out and tilled up. He took old mineral tubs and buried them in the bed and planted in them. We have one bed full of flowers, one bed with the panels for climbers to finish up, the next two beds have tomatoes, eggplant, zuchini and dang I forgot what else and the last bed is in progress.

My friend Sheryl about an hour and 15 minutes north of us sent this picture of the storm heading her way.  It looked like she lived in the mountains the way the clouds formed. That scary looking and it would be moving our way.

Finally Thursday (5/1) the rain decided to come to the Rock'n K. Normally everyone around us gets rain but when it gets close the clouds split and go around us but not today. The wind was blowing like crazy and then the rain hit and the we got pea size hail that lasted all of about 3-5 minutes. Check out the wind, Click HERE then click the link that comes up

Bruno meets Robby. My new Roomba. Once I figure out how to set it up correctly he'll help keep up with the extra puppies floating on the floors. Two large dogs bring in lots of sand and dirt plus all the loose fur. Something has happened to my video ability on here. Try clicking HERE then click the link that comes up Dang it but when the roomba came rolling across the floor he jumped and barked. He's not sure about it but at least he didn't attack. Sadie watched it but didn't bark or chase it.

Having a little trouble because the internet went down while he was running and he stopped. Then there was another problem with the fur messing up the wheels and I picked him up to clean him and that was a no no. Now he wants to charge and run all the time. Time to call support and reset him because he is also saying he's trying to update for the past 24 hours. Uggh
On Sunday (5/4) Kaleb, Pamela, Killian and Braxton came up for a Lupper and visit. Oh and Bri came to play with Bruno and Sadie. The weather was perfect. Pamela had to do some work study to earn time so she wouldn't have to use PTO since they've been overstaffed and it was her turn to be put on call.  So she couldn't visit with us as much. It happens.  Then Gpa and the boys went out with carrots to feed Jerry. As soon as the called Jerry he headed their way. Bruno came along to help. I spared Kaleb and didn't make him take pictures this time but I'll make up for it next time I see him.  Beware Kaleb.

Went to bee on Monday (5/5) We had a few show and tells. Judy S. showed off her pretty Log Cabin quilt. Love the colors and the design.
Then Judy M. had to cute quilts to show. The first is really cool. She's gonna show us how she made. The Green quilt is pretty too.
I came to bee to work on the binding for my King Size Texas Flag quilt. I'm getting close to finishing and putting it on our bed. The girls wanted to see the back and flipped it over.  I had lots of cut strips left over so to have enough fabric for the back I scrappy pieced them together.
I'm happy with the way it turned out. I only stuck around till lunch and then I headed to the gym. I'm trying to get the hang of it. I'm paying the price for not going for several months trust me. The body hurts when I go to bed. I know I know it should get better soon.
My younger sister Jerri Lynn takes care of her grand-daughter and some days it's play grounds and coffee and some days it's relaxing on the patio table. Whitney is just like her momma. Very active.  And my sister tells me she's going to be my new '"Tiny Dancer"  That's what I used to call my niece Emily but apparently Whitney has moves too.
She's adorable. I semi got to finally meet her at Pamela and Kaleb's wedding but things were so busy I didn't get to really talk with her or anyone. Some things are still a blur from that day. Thank goodness for pictures.
We went into College Station to meet our friends Kathy and Mark at Gringos. I mean it was Cinco de Mayo. I was hoping that since we were meeting at 4pm we'd miss the crowd plus I called in and put our name on the wait list and it worked.  It was raining so David dropped me off close to the front door but by the time David parked and started walking to the door the sky opened up and started pouring. David was drenched by the time he got in.  We had great food and a great visit with Mark and Kathy. Mark survived Heart Physical Therapy after his Quintuplet by pass. YAY Mark. We laughed and talked about all our ailments and surgeries. LOL  The joys of getting older.
Tuesday (5/6) I was supposed to go to College Station for a nail appointment but the weather changed that. The winds came back and so did the rain. Another 2 1/2" , that make about 7-8" in 5 days. If I had gone to CS I would have probably ran into rain, hail and flooding. Pamela goes well you could have gone to my house and waited for the weather to calm down. I had to laugh and remind her of the photo she sent me. That was the road to her subdivision. A woman with her baby drove around the barricades and tried to drive through the rushing water and had to be rescued. Yeah I don't so. I've never seen that much water but with all the rain the last 5 days, the ground is saturated.  There were many streets under water. I thought ahead and cancelled my appointment early thank goodness.
Stopping for now.
