Our Girls are growing up and Project List 2015

The last couple of months have been a bit of a roller coaster. My mom ended up in the hospital for several days. She's out now and the doctors are working to keep her well. She seems to be doing pretty good and I hope it stays that way.
Pamela came home this past weekend so we could go to her elementary school friend Marlaina's baby shower. If You click Here you can see all the pictures I took.
1997
I say it all the time but how in the heck did these girls grow up so fast and start having babies. Okay I know how the baby thing works but they should still be little girls. Crap if they're older then that means so am I. mmmmm

The shower was really nice and Marlaina received lots of very nice, cute and useful gifts. Pamela bought a few things for our gift bag and I added strips of fabric that will be made into a quilt of course.

Go figure me make a quilt. Stay tuned for the finished results. Baby Thomas is due in November.

And Here's the proud parents to be. They are gonna make the best parents.

Pamela thought we needed a selfie.

Two of Marlaina's friends have already had their babies. Meet Valentina  and Harper

These sweet baby girls slept through the whole  thing. The girls were passing them back and forth so the Mom's could relax and eat a bite if they wanted to.

And this little guy is James. He was very well behaved. He had walked over by me at the end of the shower and I asked him if he'd smile for the camera and boy did he.
Aren't these cakes something else. They're made in the baby's room color scheme. This cake was a pink champagne

but

the white cake was lemon vanilla I think. Shoot I forgot but it was my favorite. I got one piece and Pamela got the other and we shared so we taste both cakes.
Both cakes were moist and so tasty.
And this is the wreath Pamela made for baby-2-bee Thomas. Pamela is getting pretty crafty these days.

Pamela met Kristina through Marlaina. Kristina is a mother of 1 year old twin girls.

Babies everywhere. LOL

Tuesday's are Margarita Happy Hour all day at Los Cucos. Of course I can't go during the day but I can after work. So this past Tuesday me and 3 of the girls I work with headed that way after work. Dr. Rita was there waiting with a prescription for us for stress relief. We were glad to see her. LOL
Now my friends on facebook already know this story but let me share it here. After dinner (oh I forgot to mention we actually ate dinner)  I ran to the bathroom and when I came out I stopped at a table to say 'hi' to some friends/former coworkers. While I was talking my friends Ashley, Samara and Cassie decided to play a trick on me. Cassie walks up to say they were heading out and that they'd meet me at the movie. Then Ashley walked up and handed me my purse.  So I say bye to my ole friends and walk outside to get in my car. I'm walking and then I stopped, I look back, and look again where I parked my car. Oh shit! I think my car has been stolen. Oh man this is not going to be a fun night. My thought are going every which way then Ashley and Cassie drive by just laughing away. Ding Ding Ding a light went on...I get it these little rats moved my car but where.....
At that moment I saw my car across the lot. As I walked to the car I looked over and there was Samara sitting at the stop sign making sure I found my car. When I got in I knew she was the one who moved my car. The car seat was pulled way forward. Well played girls....  Remember Pay backs are hell.
After that we headed to the movies. We caught the movie "War Room" It a movie about the power of prayer and faith. Be sure to take a box of Kleenex or wear a shirt with sleeves to wipe your eyes. It's not a movie for everyone but I liked it and so did the girls. It was a fun evening. I was home and in bed by 10.

I only have 3 1/2 months left to cross more items on this long UFO list.  I better get busy. Hopefully the next time I show this I'll have several items crossed off so that 2016 can start off with new stuff on the list.

David and I poured a glass of wine and sat out on the patio.  Great way to end the day.
Nice evening, good glass of wine and Great Friend and our furry friend Lilley what more could you ask for.

Until next post..Babies are always more trouble than you thought - and much more wonderful.  ~Charles Osgood

Pamela's House Warming

Pamela has been in her new home for 2 1/2 months now. She's got her house probably set up better than I have mine and David's. It's so cute and she's so proud of it. She still has a few things to do and get but she's done quite a bit so far. Her crap craft room will be her next big project but she already has ideas of what she wants. She wants a cabinet/shelving type unit that would fit behind a couch but she plans on putting it behind the couch on the wall. And she already knows what kind of hutch she wants for her dining room in fact she's already found it and she might get it for Christmas.
Pamela and a friend were gonna go in together and have a combination House Warming and Birthday party but the birthday girl decided that she wanted the focus on each event and she help Pamela's organize the House Warming. Silly girl bought a pinata' for the party.  Big problem with that.... Pamela didn't have any trees to hang it in. LOL. The house warming was the last Saturday of August. We went up to help her set up some things and I helped her cook.
Pamela decided on having a taco bar with all the fixings. She had plenty of food and drinks and her house looked great.
Here's her cute office nook and her guest bath

Her awesome kitchen.  Granite counters.... I remember our choices harvest gold, avocado green, butcher block counters and vinyl flooring. We've come a long way baby.
  Master bath and bedroom

Her den. That's David on the couch. Poor guy his back is killing him but we wanted to help Pamela prep for the house warming
Her bare dining room. By Christmas she'll have a china hutch
That's Pamela's friend SpenSer. They were roommates during nursing school. Spencer is expecting her first baby in December.
I'm sure she'll love me for this picture.

Pamela's friend Hailey(nursing friend) bought this cookie cake. Too cute..
Pamela took over care for baby Carsen while the Momma fixes a plate of food.  Such a little cutie.  Speaking of Momma.

Pamela's Godmother and my Goddaughter came up to see the house and have a bite to eat.  Pamela was so happy they came up. She doesn't get to see them too often. It seems like when she comes homes it go go go.
Daddy is fading. Can't take no more. He's taking some pain meds and he's ready to go home. That means I'm driving home.

This is adorable. I said camera/picture and Amanda immediately struck a pose. Pamela's nursing friends are a great group of gals.

And this is Hailey. She and her boyfriend drove in from Austin. Hailey was Pamela's roommate for Pamela's last year of college before nursing school.

And this is the guest room with the quilt I finally completed along with the dust ruffle, pillow shams and deco pillows.

Like I said her home is much more put together than mine. I guess I better get busy.

Until next blog.... Quilts, like friends, are warm and comforting; and you can never acquire enough of either.
