Where's the month Gone To

Dang it seems like forever since I've posted anything.

July 25-26 - David drove to Ennis for a race. This one didn't have a happy ending. He didn't bring home the money darn it.

Eventually he'll be pulling a slightly bigger trailer and it'll be red.  He's gonna set it up so he can sleep in it when the races are multiply days. The new trailer is in great shape but he'll need to customized the inside to suit his usage.  It's a blank canvas. His wheels are turning with the possibilities of how he's going to lay it out.

I like this new trailers rear door. It's a ramp door that will make it so much easier loading the motorcycle. I feel it's much safer that a ramp that's about 18-20" wide if that. That's my opinion any way.

As I mentioned in my last post we sold our cows and instead we're leasing our land to a young man down the street.  He's helped David with our cows since we moved here when Garret was around 14. Garret is a hard worker and very knowledgeable about the workings of cows and now runs his own business. David told Garret one day when he was here that he might have to take the calves away...... He tells Garret that I've started naming the calves. LOL. Not all of them just a few of them.
Okay so I named this one Angel. It has an angel kiss on it's forehead. Then there's Bugsy.  They're all so cute.
Okay so I haven't named the next 2 so I'm not totally out of control. LOL
There's a bunch more but these little gals were close by.

While in Bryan I went to watch the boys at MMA only when I got there only Killian was sparing.  Apparently Braxton went to the doctor. Killian had improved since the last time I saw him.  Good Job Killian. If you click on his name in blue it'll bring up him sparing. The boys love MMA.

I began a quilt for my friend Sheryl's son and daughter in law for their baby to be... Sheryl has 5 boys. 4 out of 5 all have boys. Aaron has a boy but he and Kindra are having the first Grand Daughter. I think she might get spoiled being the only girl in the family. LOL My goal was to get it finished and to them before baby girl arrived well she didn't get the memo that her due date was in August.  Anora Kay arrived July 25th.  The quilt is finished and mailed.  By the time I post this they should have the quilt in hand. Congratulations to Kinda and Aaron.
The fabric was little fairies. The quilting by Donna's Lavender Nest are flowering hearts. The pattern is called Daisy's and Diamonds.

Saturday (8/8) Would have been my Mom's 91st birthday. I sure miss our talks, her smile and laughter.  RIP Mom I love you.
Today was also Kennedy hang out time.  We took our friends John & Kelli Kennedy to JW Steakhouse in Carmine for lunch. It was pretty darn good. David and Kelli both ordered as one of their sides the cucumber salad but they got a surprise. It was the typical cucumber, tomato and onion in vinegar. It apparently tasted more like bread and butter pickles. LOL. After the initial shock they both decided they were bad.  Food and Service was good.
Our next stop on our outing was Koopers Family Distillery.  John and Kelli each got a whiskey flight, David and I had been before so we each ordered a drink. I had an old fashioned and David got a whiskey sour. Mmmm.

After they finished their flight they ordered a drink. After lots of talk and laughter it was time to head down the road. While we were having a good time here we still had another stop to share with John and Kelli.
We took them to the Busted Oak Cellars. It was wine time. Since they'd never been here before they got a tasting to decide what they wanted to drink. And since David and I had been here we just got a glass of wine.  It's fun to share places we've been to but scary too. What if they don't like it is always in the back of our mind.  But so far so good.  Good times and memories made on this outing.
Before leaving we took a selfie on the Big Maroon Chair. We were gonna head home after this but there was a place in Giddings called the Sixth Street Spirits and they were open until 8 so we decided to stop there since we'd pass right by it before going home. We have never been here either so it was an adventure for us too.
They had Bourbon, Rye, Whiskey and Vodka.  Today was a really fun day of trying  new drinks and places.

We got home after 9. Our puppies were hungry and happy to see us.
John and Kelli had to get home to their furry family too. Until next Kennedy date day/night. LOL
Well that's it for now.
Until next post....“Life is meant for good friends and great adventures” – Anonymous
